Thomas will conduct two concerts with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment this October as part of the Oxford Lieder Festival. The opening concert of the Festival will be in the iconic Sheldonian Theatre conducting salon arrangements of Mahler – Das Lied von Der Erde, Mahler – Lieder lines Fahrenden Gesellen and the premiere of a selection of Strauss songs arranged for silent film from 1925. The soloists are Dietrich Henschel, Toby Spence and Kate Royal. Thomas will also be conducting the silent film version of Der Rosenenkavalier and will be taking part in a study day that explores Mahler and his Circle.
